On this page, we attempt to provide solutions to all hardbricked Moto G4 Plus devices. Either your device is stuck in Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 or HS-USB Bulk mode. Has blank screen or the led light just flickers, the Moto G4 Plus unbrick solutions tabled here should work for you. The idea is to get your Moto G4 Plus to bootloader mode by utilizing the Moto G4 Plus EDL and using fastboot commands to flash firmware and recover the device.

Project Folder:
Blankflash folder would contain the necessary files including the singleimage.img file required, when flashed on the Moto G4 Plus, will load bootloader and other supporting partitions and kick the device into fastboot mode.
Loader folder would contain the loader.img file. Once flashed on an SD Card, turns the SD Card to a bootable partition that can be mounted by supported devices so that the device can be detected by the PC for further repair.
QFIL folder would contain the necessary .mbn files required to kick your device into the bootloader.

Moto G4 Plus Unbrick Methods Deployed
On this page, we provide instructional tutorials for methods deployed, that which include the QFIL, Blankflash and Loader methods of unbricking Moto G4 Plus.
In the paragraphs that follow, we explain how to unbrick your Moto G4 Plus device using either QFIL, the Blankflash files or the Loader method.
How to Unbrick Moto G4 Plus Using QPST QFIL
1. From the Moto G4 Plus Unbrick Files Download section, select your device variant to gain access to the unbrick files.
2. Once your access link arrives, download the content of the QPST / QFIL folder and extract the content onto a folder on your PC.
3. Download HS-USB QDLoader Drivers here and install it on your PC.
4. Open your Moto G4 Plus QFIL Files folder on your PC to view its content.
5. Launch (Open) QFIL on your PC. You may download latest QPST from here thus, if it is not installed on your PC yet.
6. Now, on QFIL, choose Flat Build and for programmer choose the firehose file seen in the QFIL Files folder you opened in Step 4 above.
7. Click Load XML and choose rawprogam0.xml and patch0.xml both in the QFIL Files folder in which the Firehose file is located.
8. Finally, click Download. QFIL should successfully download the files on your Moto G4 Plus.
Once QFIL has successfully downloaded the files, your Moto G4 Plus should reboot automatically. Note that first boot may take up to 15 minutes to complete!

How to Unbrick Moto G4 Plus Using Loader File
1. From the Moto G4 Plus Unbrick Project Folder, download the loader file specific for your Moto G4 Plus variant and extract it onto a folder on your PC.
2. Now, format your SD Card. exFAT is preferred.
3. Download DiskImageRev2 from here and extract it onto a folder on your PC then, open it.
4. Slot your SD Card in a card reader and connect it to your PC.
5. Launch DiskImageRev2 on your PC - as Admin preferably.
6. On launch, DiskImageRev2 should detect and display the drive where your SD Card is connected. If otherwise, browse to select the correct drive.
7. From DiskImageRev2, browse to the folder where you saved / copied the Moto G4 Plus Loader.img file on your PC and select it.
8. Now, click Write and wait until DiskImageRev2 completes the process.
9. Once DiskImageRev2 has successfully written the files on the SD Card, your SD Card is now bootable! You may now insert it on your Moto G4 Plus and boot the device using its bootloader key combo.
Unbrick Moto G4 Plus Using Blankflash Method
1. To unbrick your Moto G4 Plus, Download Motorola Device Manager here and install it on your PC.
2. Download HS-USB Driver here and install it on your PC.
3. Download the appropriate Moto G4 Plus firmware for your device variant.
4. Now, extract or unpack the Moto G4 Plus stock official firmware you have downloaded from the step 3 just above here.
5. Connect your Moto G4 Plus to the PC and hold on while the drivers are being installed. If the drivers installation is successful, proceed.
If no sign of drivers installation is seen or noticed go to:

Windows Device Manager >> COM Ports...
- Disconnect your device from the PC.
- Uninstall the drivers.
- Restart your PC.
- And re-install the HS-USB DLoad Drivers again.
- Connect your Moto G4 Plus to the PC again.
6. Download, extract / unpack the Moto G4 Plus Blank Flash file onto a folder on your PC.
7. Open the Moto G4 Plus Blank Flash folder and Double-click the blank-flash.bat.
A Command Prompt window will open and that should detect your Moto G4 Plus connected.
8. Wait patiently while the flashing is being done until it completes.
9. Your device should now reboot to bootloader. If it does not, boot it to bootloader using the key combo.
10. Now, download Moto G4 Plus Bootloader archive file from the Blankflash folder and extract it onto a folder on your PC.
11. Open the Bootloader folder and then Open Command Prompt in that folder.

To do this;
- Press and hold the Shift Key then Right-click on your PC.
- From the Options, select Open Command Prompt here
12. In Command Promt window, type;
fastboot devicesYour device should be listed. This is to confirm that the PC can now see your device in fastboot mode / bootloader mode.
13. Now, flash the Moto G4 Plus bootloader.img and gpt.bin files contained in the folder on the device by typing the lines below one after another in the Command Prompt window;

14. Now, go to the Moto G4 Plus firmware folder and open Command Prompt in the folder. To do this;

In that folder press and hold the Shift key then Right-click. From the options, choose Open Command Prompt Here
15. On Command Prompt, type the following codes / command line one after another until it is complete.

16. Congratulations! You just unbrick your Moto G4 Plus from HS-USB Bulk, HS-USB QDLoader 9008, QHS-USB DLoad 9008 or whichever Qualcomm brick state it was.
NOTE:
1. If you are using mfastboot, replace fastboot in the commands above with mfastboot.
2. Depending on the firmware you downloaded, you may have less or more fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk.5 commands to execute in the folder. All you have to do is change the figure accordingly.
Blankflash is a method of injecting dummy bootloader into your Moto G4 Plus by means of commands through Windows CMD that communicates with your Moto G4 Plus in the edl, download mode thus; HS-USB DLoader 9008 provided that proper Qualcomm HS-USB Drivers are downloaded and installed on your PC.
This dummy bootloader will help kick your Moto G4 Plus out of the HS-USB DLoader mode and into bootloader mode and from which fastboot commands can be sent to the device directly through Windows Command Prompt or Linux/Mac Terminal.
Once your Moto G4 Plus enters bootloader (soft brick), our initial aim is acheived. You may then load any firmware on the device using RSDLite or using the usual commands.
